I am the lucky one just because I met an extremely nice family the Borg family. I'm not saying that we never got upset with each other but I learnt a lot from them. I learn to have a good study habit, clean the restroom and bedroom every Saturday, get ready for school on time, do not cause troubles for others, say the two magic words “please” and “thank you” and love my parents all my life. Maybe you’ll feel like “that’s all?” but yes they are. These are the really basic but also important things I learn here.
After a few months, I realize that there will be no one who love you and take good care of you more than your parents. I am a girl who just cannot get up in the early morning so my dear mom will wake me up 7:00 instead of 6:45 so I can get another 15-minute-sleep even though later on she has to spend so much effort to deal with the traffic so I’ll be arrive school on time. My school in U.S. starts at 8:30, which is not too bad, but still I need to get up at 7:00 and get everything ready right before 7:30 including my breakfast and this is because my host dad can’t stand all those traffic. Back to China, my mom will get up earlier in the morning to make me breakfast, later she will call my name several times to wake me up, at last she will drive me to school and wish me good luck. I believe I did cause a lot of trouble for her for not noticing these little but important things she did for me.
Well, not saying that my host family doesn’t treat me nicely, they really do teach me how to take care the people around me and care for me.
Since I told them that I really like watermelon, my host dad Ken will always buy me a watermelon every week during the summer
Chocolate milk is my favorite drink. Before I came here, Ken told me they never bought chocolate milk. At first, Ken bought small size for me to drink each day but I was drinking too fast so he just bought this huge size chocolate milk for me.
My host dad's favorite girl, Little Lady. You should call her Little Lazy because she eats too much and doesn't do a lot of running. She is already overweight and last time Ken just told me she gained another 3 pounds over a month. Poor Lady is on a diet right now.
My host parents are proud of their two sons. For me, they are like the chinese family in America. The way they educate their kids are almost the same as my parents. This is the younger brother Kyle who is the nicest host brother in the whole world.
My host dad's favorite chips. OMG, It really taste good and I got a lot of chances to have them. They're spicy and salty, that's why they're my favorite too. My host dad sometimes had to buy two packages of chips, one for him and one for me.
